The basement is the most delicate part of the house that immediately becomes damp throughout severe temperature levels. Even when it looks dry, moisture will still enter the area through the concrete walls and floors.
Based upon a study released by University of Minnesota in April 2014, there are three sources of wetness: the rain or groundwater, indoor locations (restrooms, clothes dryers, kitchen) and outside cooler surface areas (windows).
As the damp air circulates around your home, you'll feel awkward. It feels like you don't want to stay inside your home because of musty scent, which won't disappear even if you mop the living-room floor for multiple times.
